Remembering Betty

Grandma's first cousin (and our first cousin, twice removed) Betty Tomlinson Anderson passed away in Tottenham, Ontario on July 26, 2016. She was 93 years old.

Her local newspaper published a very nice obituary detailing her many contributions to Canadian media.

Beloved Tottenham resident Betty Anderson helped keep history alive.

You can also read about her involvement with local organizations, even recently, here (see pages 13 and 14):

Betty Tomlinson Anderson Remembered

Over the years we had kept in touch with annual cards.  I shared with her the news about Mom, and she shared some sweet remembrances of her from visits to Peoria. We had written back and forth about family history a bit and she sent me some pictures of her family there in Canada. In the last note I received from her, over a year ago, she shared about having some memory issues and other health problems.

She was so happy to be involved in her local community for so many productive years and to have been able to visit and have a wonderful connection with her son, John.

Funny picture with mom, there. She looks drunk the way she is holding her glass.
