I am pretty sure that Mom made this without the barbecue sauce and DEFINITELY without the tabasco. I just remember the crust, meat, onions, and cheese. Perhaps she made a version of this with Bisquick instead of the biscuits . . . does anyone remember?
Ironically (considering the "manpower" ad focus) Mom may have primarily made this during the era when there was only one "hungry guy" among six females in our house.

Oh my gosh!!!! I totally forgot about these! I feel like there had to have been some kind of sauce, but…. maybe not. Kind of hard to remember. I remember Mrs. Kasube made these on little rye bread rounds and I was like, EWWW, what kind of nasty bread is this?!!!!
