Tonight was Elena's annual spring dance recital! Hard to believe this is the fourth one . . . but it was really wonderful to see the progress she's made. Her group actually got to dance two dances--one (that the girls choreographed themselves) to Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty and one set to Copland's Rodeo. In fact, the Copland dance was the very last dance on the whole program and got thunderous applause! We sat with Grandma Becky and commented that the only thing that would have made the evening more perfect would have been Grandma Barbie and Grandpa Jim sitting right there, too.
Here she is celebrating after the show (notice her hair is in a bun--the first time it has been long enough to do this!)
Elena also received her new glasses today. Oh, the excitement!

Elena, you look beautiful in your new glasses! Is it nice to be able to see better? I remember when I first got glasses, noticing that I could see the leaves on the trees so much clearer!
Great job on the dance recital, too!
Oh Elena, congratulations on your dance and new glasses! We're so sorry we couldn't be there with you. When you're here, we can compare glasses, though.
Love, Grandpa Jim
Here's looking at you, kid! Glad you can see clearer now!
