These were the cookies I loved that Mom made when we were little--very thin, crispy, and with a little orange flavor from orange zest. Does anyone else remember these? Some years I make them for Valentine's Day, and I ended up making about 8 dozen last night so that the kids would have a surprise in the morning. I also gave them to my Sunday School class (kindergarteners). I never want to fuss with the frosting . . . too time consuming . . . so I do the little red sprinkles instead and they look very homey and cute.
